But it there doesn't seem to be a pattern to what triggers it. gen) since I'm assuming there's some sort of "delay compensation" going on to make the audio in the video sync with the AirPods. ![]() I have a hunch that it's caused by me switching between devices with my AirPods (1. Only way to fix it is to restart the Mac entirely. Closing the tab with the video or quitting and reopening Safari doesn't fix the problem. I don't ever mess with the playback speed buttons on any online video players and going in and changing them when I get this bug doesn't slow down the video either. Safari video playback speed bug Occasionally, I will experience this weird bug(?) in Safari 13.0.5 where all video playback speed is completely faulty: Regardless of the length of the video, or whether it's streaming or "pre-loaded" like on YouTube, it will play from the beginning of the video to end of the video in under a second or less and I will only see a couple of frames of the video. Does any body know how to reinstall safari or the closest thing to it? (Wouldn't let me do it via recovery mode which is why I had to go into the store). I recently had a problem restoring from a backup and had to get the guys in the apple store to reformat the drive and put macOS on again. I tried clearing all website data and emptying caches. I have tried both these websites on the google chrome browser and there is no issue, so I am sure that the problem is with safari. ![]() (weird) (websites like youtube are unaffected) This doesn't happen when the advert is playing before the video, just the itv content. But the video also glitches for a split second at the same time that the mouse glitches. When playing a channel on this site the same problem happens. The other website I have spotted this on is itvhub. (problem happens here when the json request and response is on the screen) One of the websites is the Alexa skill development console when testing a skill, safari asks for the microphone to be active and I click allow. The computer spends time waiting for us today, not the reverse. I can apply a filter to 20 photos in Photoshop and not have time to pet my dog. I'm old enough to remember spending lots of time waiting for my computer to finish a task - used to take coffee breaks around these waits. But 2) depending on how you use your computer you may not notice a huge difference between the two computers. I'd expect that because the SSD access is faster, the CPU is faster, and it has more RAM than my 2011. The point I'm trying to make is two fold: 1) I certainly didn't experience a slower machine in the 2018 MBA and in many ways it seemed peppier. ![]() Application launches seems to be the same or faster on the new computer, of course what's the difference between near instantaneous and instantaneous? But hefty programs did seem to become usable faster. It rebooted significantly faster but it also wasn't loading all my extras like Keyboard Maestro and 1Password so that wasn't a fair test. That gave me a pretty good idea of its performance compared to mine. I owned a 2011 MBA and tried out a 2018 MBA at my local Apple Store which had quite a few applications on it. ![]()
